I sent a message of conservation through images of beauty. The environmental concepts that I feel strongly about are the conservation of the natural state of the earth. The concept of the photos that I took contrast each other, some showing the natural state of the earth with the silhouette of the trees and the clouds, and some showing man's contribution (the telephone wires, the light, etc.) Man's impact is both positive and negative. The positives are that obviously light has impacted us and allowed us to see at all times, and telephones are so we can communicate. These things have been helpful over the course of the years, but things like wires can be dangerous. Not only do they ruin the landscape and make less appealing to look at, they can also harm birds that are perched on them if something snaps or goes wrong.
For my black and white images, I did what I normally do to convert to black and white. In this set in particular, I played around mostly with blues and cyans because they're the colours that are most present in the set. I also adjusted the levels and curves in order to create a stark contrast between black and white, specifically in the last photo in the set.
