For my studio still life, I laid out the contents of my wallet/purse. Most of the things I carry with me are necessities and memories, such as my ticket stubs, with the exception of some random things like my earrings. I laid everything out on the backdrop and took a picture from above. The studio lights were set up so that there wouldn't be a lot of glare coming on the reflective surfaces such as the tamagotchi and earrings. I laid everything out and spread them apart rather than having them all grouped together so it was easy on the eyes.
For my out of class still life, I took an old suitcase and put various old items that I found in my great grandmothers attic. I arranged them inside of the suitcase to create an overall theme of travel, hence the travel care kit and pamphlets. These items, paired with the newspaper and especially old letters, creates a sense of running away from home. The light was coming in through a window to the right, which cast a shadow on the right hand side of the box.
